Reading the Bible

It’s time for me to buy a new one. My old one is probably on the bottom of some box not unpacked since the last time I moved, 4 years ago, and has underlined things that I no longer find important. I’ve started over so many times since I read in it last time, it’s time to get a new one. I think I want an edition with footnotes to explain the discurse the texts were written in. When I do that, I plan on blogging my reading.
In the meantime, I’ll recommend Through the storm’s explanation of Romans 1.

  1. Glad to hear you appreciated my comments on Romans. It really helps to have an understanding of Romans that does not make me feel condemned… especially when Romans is the books that proclaims that “there is NOW no condemnation…” !! This helps me want to return to reading the Bible without fear.

I used to worry that I was simply trying to read the Bible in the way that suited me. In some way this is true. However, for me the only alternative was to abandon Christianity altogether. After all, I did not ask to be gay… I just am, and I’m trying to do the best I can with who I am.

Looking forward to reading about your new Bible reading journey.
